Aged care programme information
Descriptions of Support at Home, eligibility, assessment and participant contributions on this site explain how the programme generally works. Those arrangements are set by the Australian Government and can change, sometimes at short notice.
The official sources, My Aged Care, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, are the authority on current requirements. Where this site and an official source differ, the official source is correct. See Helpful Links for how to reach each of them.
The Support at Home calculator
The budget calculator is an estimating tool. It is not a quote, not an assessment, and not financial advice.
It works from published classification and contribution rates to show roughly how a quarterly budget might break down. It doesn't know your assessed classification, your actual contribution rate, or anything else about your situation, because it never asks and nothing you enter is sent to us. Two people using the same settings will see the same figures, and neither result is a statement about what either of them will receive or pay.
Only My Aged Care can tell you what you've been approved for, and only a written agreement with us sets what you'll pay. Please don't make a financial decision on the strength of a figure this tool produced.
Services and availability
Descriptions of our services explain what that type of support typically involves. Whether a particular service is available to you depends on your assessed needs, your funding, your location and our capacity at the time.
Nothing on this site is an offer, a promise or a guarantee that a service will be provided, or that it will be available in your area or within a particular timeframe. Service areas and availability change. Ask us about your address rather than assuming from a map or a list.
Pricing and costs
Any pricing shown on this site is indicative and subject to change. Your actual costs depend on the services you receive, your assessed contribution and the arrangements agreed with you, and they will be confirmed in writing before support starts.
Published rates may not reflect a change announced by the Government since the page was last updated. See Pricing for what we publish, and ask us to confirm anything you intend to rely on.

The date at the foot of each reference page is when that document last changed. Pages elsewhere on the site don't carry a date, so if something looks time-sensitive, ask us rather than assuming it's current.
